The Alt Text feature in SleekAI leverages AI to automatically generate descriptive alternative text, captions, and descriptions for images in your WordPress Media Library. This enhances accessibility and SEO for your website content.
Navigating the Alt Text Section
You can access the Alt Text settings and tools here:

The Alt Text section is organized into three tabs: Model, Generation, and Table.
Model Configuration
This tab allows you to select the specific AI model used for generating image descriptions.

Similar to other features in SleekAI, the available models depend on the API keys configured in your main settings. Different models offer varying levels of detail and nuance in their descriptions. Consider experimenting to find the model that best suits the style and complexity of your images.
Generation Settings
Configure how and when alt text is automatically generated.
Edit the placeholder with your site URL, it will be saved for the next time you visit.
- Automatic Generation: Enable the switch to automatically generate descriptions for any new images uploaded to the Media Library.
- Target Fields: Choose where the generated text should be saved using the
checkboxes:
Alt Text
: Populates the standardalt
attribute field.Caption
: Adds the description as an image caption.Description
: Saves the text to the image's description field. You can select one, two, or all three options depending on your needs.
Image Table & Bulk Generation
This tab provides a table view of your existing Media Library attachments, focusing on the Alt Text, Caption, and Description fields.
Edit the placeholder with your site URL, it will be saved for the next time you visit.
From this table, you can:
- View the current Alt Text, Caption, and Description for each image.
- Select multiple images using the checkboxes.
- Click the
Generate
button (located at the top right) to initiate bulk generation for all selected images based on your current Model and Generation settings.
This is particularly useful for processing existing images in your library that lack proper descriptions or for updating descriptions with a different AI model or settings.
