Formidable PayPal payments as cards, not entry rows
The Formidable PayPal Standard add-on writes each transaction to frm_payments, with an amount, a status, a paysys set to paypal, a foreign key to the entry in frm_items, and metadata for the txn ID and IPN response. Formidable's own Payments listing shows rows, and PayPal's dashboard knows the charges but not the form. Per-form revenue and per-currency mix sit in two places that never join up.
SleekView Charts treats frm_payments as the dataset, joins frm_forms for readable form names through the item_id link to frm_items, and lets you group by form_id, status, or created_at. Sum amount for revenue, count rows for volume, average for typical order size. frm_item_metas exposes the rest of the entry fields so you can split revenue by a custom dropdown answer captured at checkout.
Charts share the dataset and saved filters with Table view, so jumping from a refund-rate KPI back to the actual payment rows is one tab. The same indexed paths the Formidable payments admin uses keep cards fast on tens of thousands of payment rows across years.
Workflow
From frm_payments rows to a Formidable dashboard
Point Charts at frm_payments
frm_payments as the dataset. SleekView joins frm_items by item_id and frm_forms by form_id so form names show up on every group-by.
Add chart cards
amount across completed payments, a Pie over status, a Bar of revenue per form, and an Area of payments over created_at. Each card uses indexed queries on the payments table.
Filter once, chart everywhere
Share by saved view

Comparison
Default Formidable Payments listing vs SleekView Charts
Default Formidable Payments listing
- Payments listing shows rows with no aggregate or chart view
- PayPal's own dashboard doesn't know per-form attribution
- Pending and refunded mix needs an IPN log dive to surface
- Cross-form revenue totals need custom code
- Date range filtering doesn't drive a chart, only list pagination

Audience
Who builds Formidable PayPal dashboards with SleekView
Finance
Sum amount across complete PayPal payments, chart refunded versus complete, and reconcile against the PayPal dashboard without exporting CSVs.
Fundraising and sales
Track daily donation and order volume, rank campaign forms by revenue, and split by an entry-meta dropdown to keep attribution clean.
Form admins
Audit pending PayPal entries by form, catch IPN delivery delays before donors complain, and verify the gateway wrote a status for every transaction.
The bigger picture
Why Formidable PayPal payment data deserves a chart layer
Formidable PayPal Standard is the gateway many donation and event-driven Formidable sites lean on because it stays inside the existing entry workflow. The data is rich. Every transaction carries a status, an amount, a paysys code, and a foreign key back to the entry, but the Payments listing only paginates rows.
Finance teams reconciling a PayPal payout cycle need the sum of complete amounts over a date range. Fundraising ops wants per-campaign revenue. Form admins want to spot pending entries that never converted, often because of IPN delivery delays.
None of these are exotic analyses, they are numbers the gateway already wrote into frm_payments. SleekView Charts surfaces them as configurable cards on the same payments table the admin already uses, so PayPal reporting becomes one saved view instead of a CSV ritual at month end.
Questions
Common questions about SleekView Charts for Formidable PayPal Standard
Yes. The add-on stores each transaction in frm_payments with amount, status, paysys, item_id, and created_at. SleekView reads them and joins frm_items and frm_forms so form names show up on every chart.
status on frm_payments stores complete, pending, failed, refunded, and canceled values that PayPal returns via IPN. Build a Pie grouped by status, or filter to pending and put a Number on the count so the team chases the right entries.
Yes. Join frm_item_metas through item_id and group by a specific field_id like a donation campaign dropdown or a product variant. The Bar then shows revenue split by the choice the buyer made at checkout.
Aggregations run as SELECT ... GROUP BY against indexed columns on frm_payments. Card render time scales with the cardinality of the group-by more than raw row count, so tens of thousands of payment rows stay responsive.
amount is numeric, so a naive sum treats every row equally regardless of currency. Group or filter by the currency stored on the form or in frm_item_metas to keep per-currency sums separate, which is the usual finance pattern.
Cards re-query on view load and filter change. Set a refresh interval per view if finance needs near-live counts during a campaign. Idle dashboards don't poll, so closed views don't add database load.
Yes. Save views and scope them per WordPress role or capability. Finance gets a reconciliation dashboard, fundraising sees per-campaign revenue, form admins get a pending-status view. Personal filters stay scoped to each user.
Each card exports aggregated rows as CSV with the group-by labels and the aggregate values. Useful for handing finance the per-status breakdown behind a Pie or archiving a campaign-end snapshot of revenue per form.
