Quotes and invoices as a chart dashboard
Sliced Invoices stores quotes and invoices as separate custom post types (sliced_quote and sliced_invoice) with totals, line items, tax breakdowns, and client data in postmeta. The default admin keeps each post type on its own screen, which leaves cross-cutting questions about issuance volume, status mix, and client revenue invisible.
SleekView Charts builds one combined dashboard over both CPTs. A KPI card shows total outstanding invoice balance. An Area card plots issuance per day for invoices and quotes together. A Pie card splits the combined ledger by status (paid, unpaid, overdue, sent, accepted, expired). A Bar card ranks clients by lifetime invoice total.
Tabbed dashboards split into invoice-only and quote-only views for finance and sales workflows. Drill-through to rows preserves Sliced Invoices' action hooks (sliced_invoice_paid, sliced_quote_accepted) on inline edits.

The bigger picture
Why a combined ledger needs a chart layer
The split between quotes and invoices is conceptually clean and operationally annoying. A freelancer or small agency lives in a world where today's quote is next month's invoice and last month's invoice is currently overdue. Sliced Invoices stores all of that in two CPTs and rich postmeta, but the admin's two-screen split hides cross-cutting questions about revenue trends, client concentration, and conversion.
A four-card combined dashboard built directly on both post types closes that gap. Outstanding balance is the first KPI for any service business. Daily issuance stacked by doc type plots sales activity (quotes) right alongside revenue cycle (invoices) in one chart.
Status mix combines the two ledgers into a single donut so the overall pipeline state is visible at a glance. Top-client ranking gives agencies and freelancers a CRM dimension that the plugin's data model already supported but never exposed. Drill-through into rows preserves Sliced's status hooks, so marking paid or accepting a quote from a chart drill-down behaves identically to the default editor.
