SleekView for Easy FancyBox

SleekView scans post_content for the link patterns Easy FancyBox matches (image, PDF, YouTube, Vimeo, iframe) and renders the result as a sortable, filterable table. Media type, link count, alt-text gaps, and modified date sit as real columns instead of buried in render-time scans.

SleekView table view for Easy FancyBox

Easy FancyBox runs sitewide. The audit needs a list.

Easy FancyBox by RavanH wraps the FancyBox script and applies it automatically to image, PDF, YouTube, Vimeo, iframe, and SWF links on the site. Settings are global, configured under Settings > Media, and there is no gallery custom post type to inspect. The natural data layer is post_content itself.

SleekView indexes post_content for the link patterns Easy FancyBox matches and joins with wp_posts and attachment meta. Title, post type, link count by media type, alt-text gap count, and modified date sit as real sortable columns. Filter to blog posts with YouTube links missing video metadata, sort by image-link count to find the heaviest lightboxed posts, or pull every post not touched in two years that still triggers FancyBox.

Inline alt-text fixes go through attachment meta, so Easy FancyBox picks up the new caption on the next render. No plugin modifications, no runtime overhead on the front-end.

Workflow

How SleekView reads Easy FancyBox usage

1

Scan post_content for FancyBox-eligible links

SleekView matches the same link patterns Easy FancyBox does: image extensions, PDF URLs, YouTube and Vimeo links, iframe markers. Each match is counted per post and bucketed by type.
2

Resolve media types and attachment meta

Image links resolve to wp_posts attachment rows so alt-text gaps surface. Video and iframe matches resolve to type counts.
3

Save and scope the view

Name it ("PDF-heavy posts", "Video lightbox audit") and gate by capability so editorial, accessibility, and SEO each see their slice.
4

Edit inline or export

Fix alt text inline, retitle linked attachments, or export the filtered list to CSV. Updates flow back through attachment meta to the lightbox caption.

Sample columns

A typical Easy FancyBox audit table

SleekView joins the post_content scan with wp_posts and attachment alt-text meta so link counts by media type and alt-gap count sit as real columns next to modified date.

Comparison

Default Easy FancyBox settings vs SleekView

Default Easy FancyBox settings

  • Settings page configures behaviour but does not report usage
  • Site-wide coverage by media type is invisible
  • Alt-text gaps for lightboxed images need external audit tools
  • Post-type spread of FancyBox usage is not surfaced
  • Stale or broken FancyBox links go undetected

SleekView

  • Scans post_content with the same patterns Easy FancyBox matches
  • Image, PDF, and video link counts plus alt-text gaps as sortable columns
  • Inline alt-text fixes propagate to the FancyBox caption on the next render
  • Save filtered views per role ("PDF audit", "Stale video posts")
  • Honours WordPress capabilities so editors only see what they may edit

Features

What SleekView gives you for Easy FancyBox

Media types as real columns

Counts of image, PDF, YouTube, and Vimeo links sit as separate columns. The mix tells whether FancyBox is doing image popups, PDF previews, or video embeds on each post.

Alt-text triage list

Alt gaps surface per post as a sortable column. The list maps directly to the accessibility backlog and exports as a writer assignment.

Compose precise filters

Combine media-type counts, alt gaps, post type, and modified date into a saved filter. Stale lightbox content surfaces as a named view.

Audience

Who uses SleekView for Easy FancyBox

Accessibility owners

Filter to posts with non-zero alt gaps and assign fixes from the row. Easy FancyBox uses attachment alt text for captions, so the update flows through.

Editorial teams

Sort by modified date to surface stale posts with FancyBox links. Broken video embeds and missing media get flagged before reader complaints arrive.

Site maintainers

Filter to posts with iframe or SWF links to find legacy embeds that should retire. The cleanup project frames itself in one query.

The bigger picture

Why Easy FancyBox usage deserves a real audit table

Easy FancyBox is intentionally minimal: a settings page configures which link types get lightboxed, and the rest happens automatically across every post and page. The trade-off is that there is no admin view of where the lightbox actually triggers. Editorial teams managing thousands of posts cannot answer questions like which media types dominate, which images are missing alt text, or which old posts hold the most FancyBox-eligible content.

SleekView scans post_content for the link patterns Easy FancyBox matches and exposes the result as one sortable grid. The Easy FancyBox settings keep their global configuration role, the table adds the content audit and accessibility cleanup layer the plugin was never designed for.
