WooCommerce EU VAT Assistant is the long-running Aelia plugin that solves EU place-of-supply: it determines the customer's country from IP and billing address, captures two pieces of location evidence, applies the correct VAT rate per member state and records all of it as order meta. Each order ends up with _vat_evidence, the chosen country, the applied rate and B2B markers when a VAT number validates.

The plugin ships an excellent MOSS report for filing day and a tabular per-member-state export, but the default WooCommerce orders screen still treats EU VAT orders like any other. Validation evidence, applied rate and customer-location source hide in per-order meta, so finance teams open orders one by one when an OSS spot check turns up a question.
