SleekView for PayPal Payments for WooCommerce

PayPal Payments writes order IDs, capture IDs and funding source to order meta. SleekView renders that into a queryable audit table so wallet, card, Venmo and Pay Later sit on the same row.

Move PayPal funding details out of the order panel and into one table

The official PayPal Payments extension (formerly PayPal Checkout) persists each order's PayPal order ID, capture ID, transaction ID and funding source on the WooCommerce order. Funding source is the most useful signal: it tells whether the customer paid with their PayPal wallet, a card via PayPal, Venmo, or one of PayPal's Pay Later options. The default WooCommerce orders screen rolls all four into a single PayPal bucket with no column for the actual funding path.

SleekView reads wp_wc_orders filtered to PayPal Payments and pulls funding source, transaction intent and capture ID onto every row. Filter to Pay Later orders only for a BNPL audit, sort by funding source to see the wallet-versus-card split, or save a "Stuck at AUTHORIZE" view for B2B and pre-order flows where captures lag.

The plugin keeps owning the PayPal REST API, captures, refunds and webhooks. The table view owns the audit surface, so the funding-source detail PayPal already writes stops hiding inside per-order panels and becomes a sortable workspace.

Workflow

How SleekView surfaces PayPal Payments data

1

Point at PayPal orders

Pick wp_wc_orders filtered to payment_method ppcp-gateway or paypal, joined with wc_orders_meta. Funding source, intent and capture ID land as columns automatically.
2

Compose the columns

Drag in Order, Status, Total, Funding source, Intent, Capture ID and Date. Reorder, hide or rename without writing a custom column callback.
3

Filter and sort like a database

Filter to Pay Later orders only, save a "Stuck at AUTHORIZE" view for B2B flows, or sort by funding source to see the wallet-versus-Venmo mix.
4

Save and gate the view

Name the view ("Pay Later this month", "Awaiting capture", "Venmo orders") and gate by capability so finance, support and operators each land on their slice.

Sample columns

Rows from wp_wc_orders joined with wc_orders_meta, exposing PayPal funding source, transaction intent and capture ID so wallet, card, Venmo and Pay Later orders sort together.

Comparison

Default PayPal Payments admin vs SleekView

Default WooCommerce orders (PayPal Payments)

  • Funding source lives in order meta but never appears as a column
  • Pay Later, Venmo, card and wallet all roll up to a single PayPal bucket
  • Transaction intent (CAPTURE vs AUTHORIZE) only shows on the order edit screen
  • No saved filter for "stuck at AUTHORIZE" B2B or pre-order flows
  • Per-funding-source audits require manual CSV exports

SleekView

  • Every PayPal order rendered as a queryable row
  • Funding source, intent and capture ID as real columns
  • Filter to Pay Later, Venmo, wallet or card in one click
  • Saved "Stuck at AUTHORIZE" view for B2B and pre-order operators
  • Same dataset the PayPal charts dashboard aggregates

Features

What SleekView gives you for PayPal Payments for WooCommerce

Funding source on the row

Wallet, card, Venmo and Pay Later each become row values, so the PayPal bucket stops being a black box inside the orders screen.

Catch unsettled captures

A saved "Stuck at AUTHORIZE" view surfaces orders that PayPal authorized but never captured, useful for B2B and pre-order flows.

HPOS and legacy

Reads wc_orders_meta on HPOS or postmeta on legacy with the same column setup, so the view survives the HPOS migration unchanged.

Audience

Who uses SleekView for PayPal Payments for WooCommerce

Finance teams

Filter by funding source and date range to reconcile PayPal payouts against WooCommerce totals without a spreadsheet export.

Operators

Saved "Pay Later this month" view shows whether the BNPL push on category pages actually moved volume into Pay Later funding.

Support teams

Stuck-authorization filter highlights captures that never completed before customers ask why their charge has not posted.

The bigger picture

Why funding source deserves a column, not a bucket

PayPal Payments writes funding source (wallet, card, Venmo, Pay Later) to every order, but the default WooCommerce admin rolls them all into one PayPal bucket. That hides the most actionable signal: whether the wallet share is rising, whether Pay Later actually moves volume, whether card-via-PayPal is eating into a direct card gateway. SleekView reads the same wc_orders_meta the gateway writes and renders funding source, intent and capture ID as audit columns, so the orders screen finally separates the four funding paths.

Operators see which PayPal angle works, finance reconciles by funding mix, support catches stuck authorizations before customers escalate. The plugin keeps owning the PayPal REST API; the table just renders what it already stores.

Questions

Common questions about SleekView for PayPal Payments for WooCommerce

In WooCommerce order metadata: PayPal order ID, capture ID, transaction ID, funding source and intent. SleekView reads wc_orders_meta on HPOS or postmeta on legacy.

Yes. Funding source distinguishes wallet, card, venmo and pay_later as distinct values, so a single filter narrows the table to BNPL orders.

Yes. Subscription renewal orders carry the same gateway meta, so a created_via filter lets a view include or exclude renewals.

Yes. Venmo appears as a funding source value, and the column shows it once at least one Venmo order has been placed.

No. The PayPal dashboard owns gateway-side data: balances, payouts, and fees. SleekView audits what WooCommerce stores about each PayPal-paid order.

No. SleekView only renders in the admin and reads existing tables. Checkout still talks to the PayPal REST API through the plugin unchanged.

Yes. A column for payment_method shows PayPal Payments next to Stripe, Square or any other gateway, and a filter narrows to one or several.

Yes. Saved views are gated by capability, so finance sees funding-source breakdowns, support sees stuck captures, and contributors see nothing.
