Move gift card balances out of a flat post list and into a table
YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards models every issued card as a custom post type with rich postmeta: original denomination, current balance, status, expiry date and recipient email. The default admin renders that as a flat post list ordered by date, which is fine for opening a single card and wrong for the questions finance and support actually ask: what's the outstanding liability, which cards expire soon, who hasn't redeemed their card yet.
SleekView reads the gift card CPT joined with its postmeta keys, exposing denomination, current balance, status, recipient and expiry as columns. Filter to active cards expiring within 30 days to plan an outreach campaign. Sort by current balance for a finance liability audit. Group by status to scope to fully-redeemed cards only.
The plugin keeps owning issuance, redemption and expiry logic. The table view owns the audit surface, so the cards YITH already stores as rich CPT posts become a queryable cohort instead of a per-card drill-down.

Comparison
Default YITH Gift Cards admin vs SleekView
Default YITH Gift Cards admin
- The gift cards screen is a flat post list with no balance column inline
- Outstanding liability requires summing balances by hand or via SQL
- Cards expiring soon need a custom date filter and manual scrolling
- Recipient and denomination aren't shown next to status by default
- Marketing outreach to unredeemed-card holders has no built-in cohort
SleekView
- Denomination, current balance and status as real columns on every card
- Filter to active, expiring, redeemed or partially-used cards in one click
- Recipient email exposed per row for support and outreach workflows
- Saved views per role: finance liability, support expiry, marketing outreach
- Same dataset the chart view aggregates, so table and dashboard stay in sync
Features
What SleekView gives you for YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards
Balance inline per card
Current balance from postmeta sits next to denomination on every row so finance sees outstanding liability without opening a single card edit screen.
Composable card filters
Stack filters on status, expiry, denomination and recipient to assemble liability audits, expiry outreach lists or fraud-review cohorts from one dataset.
Expiry as a column
Expiry date sits on every row with status-aware badge styling so cards expiring within a window become a visible cohort instead of a buried meta value.
Audience
Who uses SleekView for YITH Gift Cards
Retail finance
Liability audit filtered to active and partial statuses, sorted by current_balance, exported as CSV for the quarterly close without a CSV detour.
Customer support
Search by recipient email to find every card linked to a customer, with balance and expiry in line, so support tickets close in one screen.
Marketing
Filter to active cards with no redemption activity in 60 days to assemble a reminder-email cohort that turns dormant balances into sales.
The bigger picture
Why gift card data deserves a real table
Gift cards sit awkwardly between marketing, finance and support: marketing wants issuance and reactivation, finance wants the liability KPI, and support wants to spot expiring balances. The data is already structured as a clean YITH CPT with denomination, current balance, status and recipient as postmeta on every row. SleekView reads the same posts and renders them as a queryable audit grid so the liability audit, the expiry outreach cohort and the support drill-down all run from one dataset.
Filters stack into a single query, no SQL, no spreadsheet. The plugin keeps owning issuance, redemption and expiry; SleekView gives the program the per-row reporting surface the flat post list refuses to be.
Questions
Common questions about SleekView for YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards
The YITH gift card CPT in wp_posts joined with wp_postmeta on the denomination, current balance, status, recipient and expiry keys. No new tables are introduced and no extra meta is written to the site.
Yes. Current balance updates as customers spend against a card, so the balance column always reflects what's left, with the original denomination sitting next to it for context.
Yes. Status is a first-class column, so a saved view can scope to active and partial cards only, leaving expired and redeemed cards out of the liability audit.
Yes. Manually issued cards and cards generated through WooCommerce checkout both live in the same CPT, so the audit grid shows them side by side without configuration changes.
Currency is a column where the plugin records it, so a saved view can group by currency or scope to one before reading balances for the liability KPI.
Yes. The chart view and the table view share the dataset, so a status filter or expiry-window slice narrows both surfaces. Finance pivots between row audit and rollup without rebuilding filters.
Yes. Any filtered cohort exports as CSV with code, denomination, current balance, status and expiry. Useful for quarter-end reconciliation and audit packets.
No, by default it's read-only. Balance adjustments go through the YITH gift card API, so plugin hooks observe writes exactly as they would from the card edit screen.
