Why frontend submissions need a kanban
Meta Box Frontend Submission captures user-submitted posts through a shortcode form and stores each one as a standard WordPress post of the chosen post type. The plugin writes a _mb_submission_status meta key alongside the post that swings between Pending review, Approved, Rejected, and Spam, while every Meta Box field value is written into wp_postmeta by the save lifecycle.
That lifecycle model works for a trickle of submissions. It falls apart for a site receiving fifty submissions a day from a public form. The default Meta Box submissions table shows them as a sortable list with the status as one column, so editors lose the visual sense of how many submissions are waiting in Pending review, how many were Rejected this week, and how much Spam the form is collecting.
SleekView Kanban points at the same post type, groups rows by the _mb_submission_status meta key, and renders one card per submission. The Meta Box fields you pick land on the card front. Dragging from Pending review into Approved calls update_post_meta, fires every Meta Box save hook, and runs the Frontend Submission notification chain on every drop.

Features
What SleekView Kanban gives you for Meta Box Frontend Submission
Approve submissions by drag
Each drop from Pending review to Approved calls update_post_meta for _mb_submission_status, fires the Meta Box save hook chain, and runs the Frontend Submission notification action on every move.
Spam lane for mass cleanup
Spammy submissions cluster in the Spam lane with the count visible at the top. Multi-select drag clears the lane in one move, calling update_post_meta per row so the audit trail captures who flagged each submission.
Scope to a single form
A filter bar narrows the board by submitting user, date range, or any Meta Box field value. Multi-form sites run one post type per board, so each form has its own moderation surface on the editor dashboard.
Audience
Sites that ship a frontend submission flow
Vendor directories
Directories capture vendor profiles into Pending review, then drag clean ones to Approved. Rejected holds incomplete profiles, while Spam catches crypto promos that slip past the honeypot.
Event listing sites
Event sites capture community submissions, group them by _mb_submission_status, and confirm the date field is in the future before Approved. Stale Pending review entries stay visible at the top.
Recipe and community blogs
Recipe blogs capture submissions with Meta Box image and ingredient fields. Moderators review in Pending review and drag to Approved when the recipe is tested, leaving Rejected as audit trail.
The bigger picture
Why a kanban beats a Pending review list
Frontend submissions arrive in bursts. A vendor directory might receive nothing for a week and then forty applications after a newsletter goes out. A recipe blog might receive a dozen submissions every Sunday from weekend cooks.
The default Meta Box pending list treats every submission as a row in a sortable table, which makes the queue size invisible. Moderators lose the basic sense of how much work is waiting in Pending review versus how much was Rejected this week or sitting in Spam. A kanban board fixes that shape.
Lanes show the count of each status at the top, drag-and-drop turns the moderation click into a single gesture that fires the Meta Box save hook chain, and the Meta Box fields the form captured land on the card front so a reviewer scans an entire lane without opening individual posts. The Spam lane becomes a one-screen view of everything the honeypot caught, ready for a bulk cleanup, while Rejected provides a clean audit trail across the team.
Questions
Common questions about SleekView Kanban for Meta Box Frontend Submission
Yes. Each drop calls update_post_meta for the _mb_submission_status meta key, which fires every Meta Box save hook and the Frontend Submission notification action exactly as the default moderation screen does. Approval emails fire on every drag without extra glue.
Yes. Pick which Meta Box fields land on the card during config. Text, Date, Select, Email, and URL fields render directly on the card, and longer fields like Textarea and File open in a side panel so the lane stays scannable during a busy moderation shift.

Only the _mb_submission_status meta key changes. Every other Meta Box field on the post, including File, Image Advanced, Group, and Cloneable fields, retains the value the submitter entered. Dragging never deletes data and never resaves unrelated fields with stale values.
Yes. SleekView supports per-user filters scoped to post_author = current_user_id(). Contributors see only their own cards across lanes, moderators see every submission, and the same board configuration powers both views with no duplicated post data.
Yes. The Spam lane supports multi-select with shift-click and drag, so a moderator can sweep every honeypot-flagged submission into a bulk action in one gesture. SleekView writes update_post_meta per row so each cleanup remains auditable in the standard Meta Box hook chain.
Yes. Each card can show the time since the post was created, modified, or since _mb_submission_status last changed. Sort options place the oldest cards at the top of the Pending review lane so stale submissions never get buried under fresh ones during the morning review.
No. SleekView pages lanes through indexed cursors on the _mb_submission_status meta key, the post date, and the post status. A site with hundreds of thousands of submissions loads in chunks of a few hundred cards, and heavy Meta Box fields are only fetched for visible cards.
SleekView reads and writes the existing posts table and the _mb_submission_status meta key without adding shadow tables. View configuration sits in a small options row, so uninstalling leaves every submission and every Meta Box field where the form wrote it on save.
