Akismet handles detection beautifully. The moderation experience, by contrast, is the same paginated WordPress comments screen it was years ago. When a site catches dozens or hundreds of spam comments a day, the bottleneck is triage: which rows were misclassified, which IP is hammering today, which post is drawing the bot wave.

SleekView Charts reads wp_comments rows where comment_approved is 'spam' and renders the moderation queue as a dashboard. Volume by post, by IP, and by hour become live cards instead of paginated lists.

The cards update as Akismet writes new verdicts, so moderation moves from row-at-a-time to pattern-at-a-time.

Akismet stops roughly 99% of the spam that reaches a typical site, which means the comments that do show up in the queue carry asymmetric weight. The few false positives are real readers who took the time to comment; the bot waves are evidence of an attacker pattern that's worth investigating. The default comments screen handles those questions one click at a time.
