Activity streams hide engagement signal until you chart them
BuddyPress Activity Plus extends the standard bp_activity stream with rich attachments: image galleries, video links, GIFs and URL previews stored as activity meta keyed by activity_id. The default activity admin shows a per-row moderation list ordered by recency, which is the right surface for moderation and the wrong surface for understanding community-engagement shape over time.
SleekView Charts reads bp_activity, joins the BuddyPress Activity Plus meta and renders the result as chart cards. A Number card counts total activity items posted in a chosen window. A Pie shows the attachment-type mix so community managers see whether members lean towards photos, videos or plain status updates. A Bar ranks members by activity count for the top-contributor shortlist. An Area trends posts per day so the team can measure whether weekly themes or member spotlights actually move the rhythm.
Filters carry between the activity moderation table and the dashboard, so a moderation-pending or last-30-days filter narrows every card simultaneously. The cards read activity data the plugin already writes, so no extra tracking happens and no third-party analytics tool gets bolted on.

- Filters carry between moderation table and chart cards
Features
What SleekView Charts gives you for BuddyPress Activity Plus
Engagement, not just moderation
Render bp_activity as Number, Pie, Bar and Area cards so community managers see contribution shape and cadence, not only a moderation row list.
Attachment-type breakdown
A Pie of attachment_type from BPAP meta shows whether the community shares photos, videos, links or plain status updates, informing future feature work.
Top contributor shortlist
A Bar of user_id by activity count produces a ranked thank-you and ambassador list refreshed against live bp_activity every time the dashboard loads.

Group activity by date_recorded with an Area card to measure whether onboarding tweaks, prompts or feature launches lifted contribution at all.
The bigger picture
Why activity streams need a dashboard, not just a moderation list
BuddyPress Activity Plus captures real engagement signal: who posts, what they post, when they post and what kind of media they attach. The default activity admin renders that signal as a per-row moderation list, which is right for triaging spam and unhelpful for almost everything community management does with activity data at the cohort level. A total-activity KPI anchors monthly engagement reports, an attachment-type pie surfaces what the community actually wants to do with the stream, a top-contributor bar produces real thank-you and ambassador lists and an Area on date_recorded reveals whether prompts, themes and campaigns actually move the rhythm.
Same bp_activity rows, same BPAP meta keys, completely different decision posture. The charts render the data the plugin already collects as a dashboard, which is the difference between knowing the stream is busy and knowing what to do about it.
Questions
Common questions about SleekView Charts for BuddyPress Activity Plus
bp_activity rows joined with the BuddyPress Activity Plus meta keys (image, video, link attachments) and the BuddyPress users table for display_name and member_type. Nothing new is written and no third-party tracker is introduced.
Yes. BuddyBoss uses the same bp_* schema, so bp_activity and the BPAP meta keys are present in identical shape. The same chart cards work on either platform without changes.
Yes. bp_activity carries type and component columns; SleekView exposes both as filterable columns. Common slices include 'activity_update only', 'groups component only' or 'image attachments in the last 30 days'.
Yes. Group by date_recorded with Area or Line cards and aggregate as Count to see daily, weekly or monthly cadence. Useful for evaluating onboarding, prompts and campaigns against a baseline.
Yes. A filter on is_spam, hide_sitewide or a specific component applies to both the chart cards and the underlying activity table at once, so moderation triage and reporting use the same dataset.
Yes. The accompanying table view shows attachment_type, thumbnail and a link to the source row in the activity admin, so a card you click drills into a usable moderation surface rather than a flat ID list.
No. The dashboard is read-only over bp_activity and BPAP meta. Uploads, link previews and rendering stay the plugin's responsibility; SleekView Charts surfaces what BPAP already records.
Yes. Any filtered cohort behind a chart card exports as CSV with the same columns the table view shows, including activity_id, user_id, type, component, attachment_type and date_recorded. Useful for community reports and quarterly reviews.
