SleekView Charts dashboard for Events Calendar Pro

Pro adds recurring series, charts add cross-CPT reporting

Events Calendar Pro builds on The Events Calendar with recurring events, additional views, featured-event flags, and richer venue and organizer fields. The events still live as the tribe_events CPT with start and end in _EventStartDate and _EventEndDate, venue ID in _EventVenueID, organizer ID in _EventOrganizerID. Pro adds recurrence rules as event meta and a Featured flag stored on each event.

SleekView Charts reads the three CPTs as one dataset and joins venue and organizer fields back onto each event row. Category, organizer load, capacity, featured flag, and recurrence pattern promote to groupBy columns. The dashboard answers planning questions that the calendar UI cannot: organizer workload, venue utilization, featured-versus-standard mix, edit cadence over the last quarter.

Because reads pass through standard Tribe meta keys, the front-end calendar templates keep working unchanged. The chart dashboard sits as a saved view alongside the SleekView table and kanban built from the same dataset.

Workflow

From three CPTs to a chart dashboard in four steps

1

Connect to tribe_events

Choose the events CPT. SleekView reads native fields plus the Tribe meta for start, end, venue ID, organizer ID, capacity, and featured.
2

Join venues and organizers

Surface venue address and organizer email through the linked post IDs. Categories and Pro recurrence flags become groupBy columns.
3

Add chart cards

Number for upcoming count, Pie for organizer load, Bar for venue utilization, Area for events-per-month, Radar for category mix.
4

Save the dashboard

Pin the dashboard so the Monday planning ritual reopens with the same cards, the same filters, and the same colors.

Bar · Horizontal

Events per venue

Comparison

Default Events Calendar Pro reporting vs SleekView Charts

Default Events Calendar Pro admin

  • Pro adds views but no aggregate dashboards for events, venues, or organizers.
  • Workload balancing across organizers needs a manual filter and a count by hand.
  • Venue utilization is invisible until a double-booking shows up.
  • Featured-event coverage over time is not surfaced anywhere in admin.
  • No saved chart dashboards per role: planning, marketing, venue management.

SleekView Charts

  • Reads tribe_events, tribe_venue, and tribe_organizer as a joined dataset.
  • Pro recurrence flags and featured flags become groupBy columns.
  • Number, Pie, Bar, Area, Line, Radar, Radial chart types per card.
  • Aggregations cover count, sum, average, minimum, maximum.
  • Same dataset powers the Table and Kanban views in one workspace.

Features

What SleekView Charts gives you for Events Calendar Pro

Balance organizer load

A donut of events per organizer turns the gut-feel of who-is-overloaded into a measurable number before the planning meeting.

Track venue utilization

Horizontal bar of events per venue makes overuse obvious and reveals spaces nobody books, useful when contracts come up for renewal.

One dataset, every view

Table, Kanban, and Charts share the same Tribe CPT join. Switch between operational lists and reporting cards without rebuilding queries.

Audience

Who builds Events Calendar Pro charts dashboards with SleekView

Event coordinators

Weekly dashboard with upcoming count, organizer load, and venue mix replaces the Monday spreadsheet.

Marketing teams

Featured-event coverage and category mix surface as charts, so the promotion plan is built from data rather than memory.

Agencies running multi-site calendars

One dashboard per client institution showing organizer load, venue utilization, and edit cadence.

The bigger picture

Pro extends the calendar, charts extend the planning surface

Events Calendar Pro is a planning tool more than it is a reporting tool. It handles recurring series correctly, adds the views the public-facing calendar needs, and gives organizers a richer event editor. The gap is the cross-CPT reporting layer where a coordinator wants to ask one composite question (events per organizer per venue per category for the next quarter) without writing a custom query.

SleekView Charts treats the three CPTs as one dataset and lets that question render as a four-card dashboard. Saved views become the planning rituals: Monday upcoming check, Wednesday venue utilization, Friday organizer balance. The plugin keeps owning the calendar; SleekView just charts how the calendar is filling up.
