SleekView Charts dashboard for KanbanWP

A board shows where work is. A dashboard shows how it flows.

KanbanWP keeps tasks, statuses, boards, and estimates in its own custom tables instead of postmeta. That makes the board fast, and it also means the WordPress Posts screen never sees the data. Out of the box there is no way to ask how many tasks are in progress this week, who is carrying the most work, or whether the team's average estimate accuracy is improving.

SleekView Charts reads the kanban_task, kanban_status, kanban_board, and kanban_estimate tables directly through the schema-discovery agent UI. A Number card counts active tasks. A Pie splits work by status. A Bar shows tasks per assignee. An Area trends task completion per week so a sprint retrospective starts with a real velocity line.

The board, the table view, and the charts view all share one source, so a task moved from In Progress to Done on the board reflects in the throughput chart on next load. No separate reporting plugin, no syncing data to a third tool.

Workflow

From KanbanWP custom tables to chart cards

1

Discover the schema

SleekView's schema-discovery UI lists the KanbanWP custom tables (kanban_task, kanban_status, kanban_board, kanban_estimate) and their columns automatically.
2

Join the tables

Tasks join to statuses, boards, and estimates inline, so a chart card can group by status name or sum estimate hours per assignee.
3

Compose chart cards

Pick Number, Pie, Bar, Area, or Line. Group by status, assignee, board, or completion date, aggregate as Count, Sum, or Average.
4

Save the dashboard

Throughput, WIP, and estimate views sit next to the board itself, each gated by WP capability.

Sample dashboard

Charts you can build from KanbanWP data

Each card below reads from KanbanWP's custom tables. Mix them for a sprint retrospective deck, a WIP-limit monitor, or an estimate-accuracy review.
Number · Default

Active tasks total

KPI of tasks not yet marked Done across all boards, the single WIP number a team lead checks first thing in the morning.
Count
Pie · Donut text

Tasks by status

Donut split across the configured statuses, useful for spotting columns that are over WIP limit or starving for work.
Count group by status_id
Bar · Horizontal

Estimate hours per assignee

Horizontal bar summing kanban_estimate hours per assignee, surfacing workload imbalance before it becomes a delivery problem.
Sum(hours) group by user_id_assigned_to
Area · Gradient

Tasks completed per week

Time series of tasks transitioning to Done, the velocity line a retrospective opens on instead of a vibe-based recap.
Count group by modified_dt_gmt

Comparison

Default KanbanWP reporting vs SleekView Charts

Default KanbanWP board

  • Board surfaces cards by column but offers no aggregate KPI.
  • Tasks are not visible in the standard WordPress Posts screen.
  • No native velocity, throughput, or WIP-trend chart in the plugin admin.
  • Estimate hours per assignee require manual counting across columns.
  • Per-board comparison needs a separate report or a spreadsheet export.

SleekView Charts

  • Reads kanban_task, kanban_status, kanban_board, and kanban_estimate directly.
  • Schema-discovery UI means no table names to memorize.
  • Number, Pie, Bar, Area, Line, Radar, and Radial cards per dashboard.
  • Aggregations cover count, sum, average, minimum, and maximum.
  • Throughput and WIP dashboards refresh against the live board.

Features

What SleekView Charts gives you for KanbanWP

Throughput line on demand

Tasks completed per week as an Area card so retrospectives open on a real velocity trend, not a recollection.

Workload visibility

Estimate hours per assignee in a Bar card flags imbalance before a sprint runs out of capacity on one engineer.

Board, table, charts share one source

Move a task to Done on the board and the throughput chart reflects it next load, no syncing to a separate report tool.

Audience

Who builds KanbanWP charts dashboards with SleekView

Engineering team leads

Daily standup opens on active-tasks KPI, status split, and per-assignee load. The conversation centers on data, not on whose memory is freshest.

Delivery managers

Weekly throughput trend tells leadership whether velocity is steady, climbing, or dipping, with numbers tied to the actual board.

Agencies running client boards

One dashboard per client board, surfacing WIP and throughput. Client status calls go from anecdotes to a shared chart.

The bigger picture

Why kanban boards need throughput dashboards too

A kanban board is a great real-time view of where work is sitting right now. It is a poor view of how work moves over time. A team lead looking at the board can see which column is full today but cannot tell whether throughput is steady, accelerating, or sliding without going column by column and counting.

KanbanWP holds the data needed to answer those questions in its custom tables, but its admin never aggregates it. SleekView Charts reads those tables through the schema-discovery agent UI, sidestepping the usual problem with custom-table plugins (you do not need to know the table names ahead of time) and produces throughput, WIP, and estimate dashboards that match how delivery teams actually think about flow.

Questions

Common questions about SleekView Charts for KanbanWP

No. The schema-discovery UI scans the database and lists the custom tables present, including kanban_task, kanban_status, kanban_board, and kanban_estimate. You select them visually rather than typing names.

Yes. board_id is a column on tasks, so a Pie or Bar can group by board, or a filter can scope the entire dashboard to one board at a time.

Yes. The kanban_estimate table joins onto tasks, exposing estimated hours as a numeric column. Charts can sum hours per assignee, per status, or per week.

Yes. Group tasks by modified_dt_gmt and filter to Done status to get tasks completed per week or month as an Area or Line card.

It reads from the live database on each load, so changes on the board appear next time the dashboard renders. There is no scheduled snapshot delay.

Yes. Any status row in kanban_status, whether default or custom, surfaces as a groupBy option for Pie, Bar, and Radar cards.

Yes. The dataset behind any card exports as CSV with the same columns the table view shows, useful for client reports or sprint retrospective decks.

Yes. WordPress capability checks gate the kanban dashboards, so contributors and managers see only the scope their role allows.
