Custom tables deserve a custom-table grid, not a column-by-column count
KanbanWP stores tasks, statuses, boards, and estimates in its own custom tables rather than postmeta. The board UI is fast for moving cards, and that same architecture means the WordPress Posts screen never sees the data. Asking which assignee carries the most work, which board is over WIP limit, or which tasks have been sitting in In Progress for two weeks takes a column-by-column count on the board itself.
SleekView reads the KanbanWP custom tables directly through its schema-discovery UI. The kanban_task table joins to kanban_status for status names, to kanban_board for board names, and to kanban_estimate for hour estimates. Title, status, board, assignee, estimate hours, and modified date sit as proper columns you can sort, filter, and group across every board at once.
The board keeps owning the drag-and-drop experience. The table view becomes the cross-board audit surface, so a team lead can answer questions about workload, age, and throughput in one filtered query instead of a tour across columns.

Comparison
Default KanbanWP admin vs SleekView
Default KanbanWP board
- Board shows cards by column but does not list tasks across all boards
- Tasks are invisible in the standard WordPress Posts screen
- No native filter for tasks stale beyond a configurable age
- Estimate hours per assignee require a column-by-column manual count
- Per-board comparison needs a separate report or spreadsheet export
SleekView
- kanban_task joined with kanban_status, kanban_board, and kanban_estimate
- Schema-discovery UI means no custom-table names to memorize
- Filter on status, board, assignee, estimate range, and modified window
- Saved views per role: team lead WIP, delivery manager throughput, agency client report
- Same dataset the chart view reads, so table and dashboard stay in sync
Features
What SleekView gives you for KanbanWP
Custom tables as readable columns
Schema-discovery exposes kanban_task, kanban_status, and kanban_estimate as proper joined columns instead of raw IDs only DBAs can decode.
Workload at a glance
Group by assignee and sum estimate hours in one query to spot imbalance before a sprint runs out of capacity on one engineer.
Cross-board age and status
Filter to tasks modified more than fourteen days ago across every board to find the stale work the columns are hiding.
Audience
Who uses SleekView for KanbanWP
Engineering team leads
Daily standup opens on a filtered view of In Progress tasks grouped by assignee, with estimate hours and modified dates visible without touring columns.
Delivery managers
Cross-board view of stale tasks and over-WIP columns becomes a saved query rather than a manual audit every Monday.
Agencies running client boards
One saved view per client board, exported as CSV for status reports without screenshotting the board column by column.
The bigger picture
Why custom-table plugins need a custom-table grid
KanbanWP chose to store tasks in custom tables instead of postmeta, which is the right call for board performance and the reason its data hides from every standard WordPress list. A team lead asking how much work each engineer is carrying, which board is over its WIP limit, or which cards have not moved in two weeks gets no answer from the board view and no answer from the Posts screen. SleekView's schema-discovery UI sidesteps the usual custom-table problem (you do not need to know table names ahead of time) and exposes kanban_task, kanban_status, kanban_board, and kanban_estimate as joinable columns.
The board keeps owning drag-and-drop, while leads get the cross-board audit grid that delivery work actually requires.
Questions
Common questions about SleekView for KanbanWP
No. The schema-discovery UI scans the database, lists every custom table present, and lets you pick them visually. kanban_task, kanban_status, kanban_board, and kanban_estimate show up automatically.
Yes. The default join is cross-board. Filter by board name when you need to scope to one, but the table can show every task on every board in one query.
Yes. The kanban_estimate table joins onto tasks, so estimate hours appear as a numeric column you can sort, sum, or filter by range.
Yes. Filter on modified_dt_gmt to find tasks that have not moved in fourteen, thirty, or sixty days, and save the result as a recurring stale-work review.
Yes. Any row in kanban_status, default or custom, surfaces as a filterable status value on the task table without configuration.
Yes. Any filtered view exports as CSV with the visible columns, useful for client status reports, sprint retrospective decks, or sharing outside WordPress.
Yes. The table reads the database on each load, so a card moved on the board appears in the next render with no scheduled sync.
Yes. Saved views respect WordPress capabilities, so contributors, leads, and delivery managers each see scope appropriate to their role.
