Five Star Restaurant Reservations stores each reservation as an rtb_booking post with its own post_status values that map to pending, confirmed, closed, and cancelled. The default admin view is a paginated list sorted by booking date. That helps you browse the week but does not give you a one-glance answer to the question every front-of-house manager actually has during service: how many guests are pending, how many are confirmed and arriving in the next hour, and how many tables have already turned.

SleekView Kanban reads the same rtb_booking records, treats post_status as the natural axis to group by, and renders one column per value. Cards show the guest name, the party size, the time slot, the table, and the contact info. Filters scope a board to a single service shift, a single floor section, or a single party-size band, so each role at the front of house can keep its own focused view.

Drag a card from Pending to Confirmed and SleekView writes the new status through the plugin's reservation update path. The confirmation email or SMS configured in Five Star fires. Drag to Closed when the party leaves and the table opens up. Drag to Cancelled and the cancellation flow runs end to end. Every write follows the same path the Five Star admin uses, so reporting and emails stay accurate.

Service is a sequence: a guest requests a table, the host confirms, the party arrives, they eat, they leave. The default Five Star admin shows reservations as a paginated list sorted by time. That works for the morning prep meeting but it does not give a manager mid-service a single screen that says: eight requests still need confirmation, thirty-four parties are confirmed for tonight, fourteen tables are currently closed for the evening, and nine cancellations need follow-up.

A kanban view puts those four numbers on the screen as four columns of cards. The host stand clears Pending in the morning. The manager checks Confirmed against the floor plan and adjusts the host queue accordingly.

The kitchen sees Closed grow and knows the night is winding down. Drag becomes the verb that moves each party through service, and because the writes go through Five Star's own endpoints, the confirmation emails and SMS messages continue to fire exactly as they did before.
