SleekView Kanban for MEC Pro

MEC Pro stores every booking as an mec-books post with a confirmation and verification status alongside the ticket and event meta. SleekView Kanban renders one card per booking and groups them into columns you drag cards between to update the source row.

SleekView Kanban board for MEC Pro

Read MEC Pro bookings as a board

Modern Events Calendar Pro tracks every booking as an mec-books custom post with confirmation and verification meta: mec_confirmed with values 0 for pending, 1 for confirmed, and -1 for cancelled, plus mec_verified with 0 for unverified and 1 for verified. The default Bookings screen lists those posts in a long table sorted by booking ID with the status visible only as a small label per row.

SleekView Kanban reads the same mec-books posts and groups them into columns by the combined confirmation and verification status. The board shows Pending, Confirmed, Verified, and Cancelled as separate stacks. Each card surfaces the attendee name, the event title, the ticket type, the attendee count, and the order total when one exists, ready to scan or reconcile without opening the record.

Dragging a card writes the new state back to the source row. Moving a Pending booking into Confirmed updates mec_confirmed and fires the confirmation email through the MEC notification system. Moving into Verified flips mec_verified, and moving into Cancelled flips mec_confirmed to -1 and runs the linked payment refund where a gateway is configured.

Workflow

From mec-books posts to a draggable board

1

Connect SleekView to MEC Pro

Add a SleekView data source for mec-books with the related meta keys for confirmation, verification, ticket, event, and attendee count. SleekView reads the linked event meta and ticket-type IDs automatically.
2

Pick the status column to group by

Switch the view to Kanban and choose the combined confirmation and verification meta as the grouping. SleekView maps the meta values to readable labels: Pending, Confirmed, Verified, and Cancelled by default.
3

Choose what shows on each card

Set the card front to attendee name, event title, ticket type, attendee count, and order total. SleekView formats currency and resolves event and ticket IDs into readable labels automatically.
4

Enable drag to update status

Turn on writeback so dragging a card updates mec_confirmed and mec_verified through MEC's own booking helpers. Confirmation emails, payment integrations, and any custom MEC actions fire exactly as the admin would.

Comparison

Default MEC Pro bookings vs SleekView Kanban

Default MEC Pro bookings

  • Bookings screen is a long table sorted by booking ID with status as a small label per row
  • Confirmation and verification are separate flags that are not always visible at the same time
  • Status changes require opening each booking and editing the meta one at a time
  • No glance count of how many bookings sit at each stage of confirmation today
  • Per-event registrar workflows require manual filters every visit instead of a saved board

SleekView Kanban

  • Groups mec-books posts by combined mec_confirmed and mec_verified meta
  • Drag a card to update confirmation or verification through MEC's own booking helpers
  • Cards show attendee, event, ticket type, attendee count, and order total in one readable tile
  • Works with MEC Pro payment gateways for refund moves on cancellation drags
  • Per-event saved views give each registrar a focused board for their show or workshop

Features

What SleekView Kanban gives you for MEC Pro

Real booking cards

One card per row in mec-books with the attendee, event, ticket type, attendee count, and order total ready to scan or approve without opening the record.

Drag to update status

Moving a card writes the new mec_confirmed or mec_verified meta through MEC's own booking helpers, so confirmation emails, payment integrations, and any custom MEC actions behave consistently.

Per-event boards

Scope the board per event so the registrar for a workshop sees only those bookings while the producer for a multi-day conference keeps an all-events board on hand.

Audience

Who runs MEC Pro on a kanban board

Event registrars

Walk through Pending each morning, drag confirmed payments into Confirmed, then drag verified attendees into Verified after the door check, all on a single screen.

Producers and organisers

Open the board on a tablet at the venue meeting, drag any cancellations into Cancelled, and confirm the day's attendee counts at a glance with the totals visible per card.

Finance teams

Filter the board to Cancelled to clear refund tickets against the linked MEC Pro payment gateway in a single pass, with the order total and attendee already on the card.

The bigger picture

Confirmation and verification are one lifecycle

Modern Events Calendar Pro tracks bookings through two flags that mean similar things but apply at different points: mec_confirmed moves from 0 to 1 when the registrar approves the booking, and mec_verified moves from 0 to 1 when the attendee checks in or is otherwise verified. The default Bookings screen shows both as small labels in a long table sorted by booking ID, which is the order they came in, not the order they need attention. The board view fixes this by making the combined confirmation and verification state the primary axis of one screen, with Pending, Confirmed, Verified, and Cancelled as columns.

You can see at a glance how many bookings still need confirmation, how many confirmed attendees have been verified at the door, and how many cancellations still owe a refund. Cards make individual bookings legible at the level of attendee, event, ticket type, attendee count, and order total. Drag is the natural verb for moving a booking through its lifecycle, and because SleekView writes through MEC's own booking helpers, every drag still triggers the confirmation emails, the payment captures, and the custom MEC actions you already configured.

Questions

Common questions about SleekView Kanban for MEC Pro

The combined values of mec_confirmed (0 Pending, 1 Confirmed, -1 Cancelled) and mec_verified (0 Unverified, 1 Verified) on each mec-books post. SleekView maps the combined values to readable labels and renders one column per state present in the data.

Yes. SleekView calls MEC's own booking helpers to update mec_confirmed and mec_verified, so the meta changes, confirmation emails fire through the MEC notification system, and any payment integration triggers exactly as if you had used the standard admin.

SleekView offers an optional confirmation prompt on drags into destructive columns like Cancelled, and any drag can be reverted by dragging back. The refund flow still runs through MEC, so the linked payment gateway handles the money side identically to the admin.

Yes. SleekView reads booking state on a short interval and reconciles drags against the live record, so if a colleague has already confirmed a booking on their screen, you see the new state before your drag conflicts. Optimistic updates revert cleanly on rejected writes.

Yes. MEC Pro payment gateways hook into the same booking lifecycle the board writes to, so payment confirmations, captures, and refunds continue to run on drags. SleekView never bypasses the plugin's own helpers, so gateway behaviour stays consistent.

Yes. Save a filtered view per event or per registrar and SleekView renders one board per saved view. Column counts and writes are scoped to the rows in that view, so each registrar has a focused screen while the producer keeps an all-events board.

Yes. The card front is configurable and surfaces the attendee, event, ticket type, attendee count, and order total. MEC writes these as standard meta so resolution to readable labels is automatic, including for multi-attendee bookings.

Yes. SleekView only loads cards for the columns currently visible and paginates older bookings into a scroll-on-demand tail. Indexing on the confirmation and verification meta keys keeps group counts cheap even for venues with years of bookings.
