SleekView Kanban board for wpForo Pro

A board for the work moderators actually do

wpForo Pro stores every discussion in the wp_wpforo_topics table with a status column that swings between open, answered, closed, and locked depending on how the conversation goes. Replies live in wp_wpforo_posts, and report data lives in a separate moderation table the standard admin shows on its own screen.

SleekView Kanban reads the same wp_wpforo_topics rows your moderators already trust, then renders one card per topic inside a lane that maps to a topic status. Each card shows the topic title, the author from wp_users, the forum it belongs to, the reply count, and a flagged-reports badge so the busiest and the worst threads pop out without opening any of them.

Drag a card between lanes and SleekView writes the new status back to the topic row, fires the standard wpForo hooks, and refreshes the forum front end. A long-open question moves to Answered with one drag. A heated argument moves to Locked the same way. Moderators stop bouncing between admin screens and start spending their time on the conversations that actually matter to members.

Workflow

Build the forum board in four steps

1

Select the wpForo topics table

Inside the SleekView admin you point at the wpForo topics table. SleekView reads the schema, detects the status column, and offers every distinct value as a candidate lane, so even custom statuses introduced by add-ons appear automatically without configuration.
2

Map status values to lanes

Most forums use Open, Answered, Closed, and Locked as their core lanes. Rename them, set a color, and hide states you do not need. Reorder lanes so the most urgent state, usually Open with the oldest unanswered topics, sits on the left of the board.
3

Compose the card front

Pull the topic title, author, parent forum, reply count, and last-reply timestamp onto the card. Optional fields like report count, view count, or assigned moderator can live on the detail panel that opens when a mod clicks a card for full context.
4

Moderate by dragging between lanes

Once the board is live, drag a topic between lanes to change its status. SleekView writes back to wpForo through the same update path the standard admin uses, so the forum front end, notifications, and reputation rules all stay perfectly in sync.

Comparison

Default wpForo screens versus SleekView Kanban

Default wpForo admin

  • Default forum admin spreads topics, replies, and reports across separate screens.
  • Status changes happen one topic at a time through small links and form dropdowns.
  • Long-open questions blend in with answered threads in the standard topic list.
  • Spotting heated threads usually means digging into the reports table separately.
  • There is no single view that shows open, answered, closed, and locked side by side.

SleekView Kanban

  • Reads the live wp_wpforo_topics rows so the board mirrors the forum.
  • Drag a card between lanes to change a topic state and fire the wpForo hooks.
  • Card front surfaces author, forum, replies, and reports for fast triage.
  • Filter by forum, author, or report count to focus on real moderation work.
  • Lane colors and rules can map to your forum guidelines and team structure.

Features

What SleekView Kanban gives you for wpForo Pro

Reply count on every card

Each card surfaces the reply count and the last-reply timestamp, so moderators can pick out questions that have not seen a response in days and busy threads that need a closer look without opening every topic from the standard admin list.

Report badge for heat

When a topic has been reported, a small badge appears on the card with the count of flags. A mod can sort the Open lane by report count and address the worst threads first, then drag any beyond saving straight into Locked.

Drag writes back to wpForo

Moving a card between lanes uses the same status update path wpForo uses internally. Hooks fire, the forum front end reflects the change, and reputation rules apply. Mods get the speed of a board without losing any safety the standard flow provides.

Audience

How wpForo teams use the kanban view

Daily forum triage

Moderators start the day on the Open lane, mark resolved questions as Answered, and move duplicates to Closed with a link to the canonical thread. The board makes a long backlog feel like a small set of clear decisions.

Cooling down a heated thread

When a topic gets contentious, a senior mod drags it from Open to Locked. New replies stop, the front end shows the locked state, and a moderator note saved on the card lets the rest of the team see exactly why the thread was closed.

Spotting popular questions

Sorting Open by reply count reveals the hottest discussions. Moderators can highlight those in the forum sidebar, link them from related topics, and decide whether to mark a clearly accepted answer to help future searchers.

The bigger picture

Why forum triage needs a board

Forums work because answers arrive in time and bad threads get cooled before they spread. wpForo Pro gives you the moving parts to do all of that, but the default admin treats topics, replies, and reports as separate screens, and the work piles up while moderators bounce between them. A board view changes the shape of the job.

Open, Answered, Closed, and Locked each get their own lane, so the team always knows where to look. Cards surface author, forum, replies, and report count, so the busiest and the worst threads are obvious. Drag-and-drop status changes write straight back to wpForo, which means everything that happens on the board is real moderation, not a parallel todo list that slowly drifts out of sync.

Over weeks the forum stays answered, the bad threads disappear quickly, and moderators feel like they finally have a tool that matches the rhythm of their actual day.

Questions

Common questions about SleekView Kanban for wpForo Pro

Yes. SleekView queries the live wpForo topics table through the standard WordPress database layer, so every card reflects the same row members see on the forum front end. There is no shadow copy, no scheduled sync, and no extra storage to keep in line.

Yes. The drag writes the new status value to the topic row through the same path the wpForo admin uses, so hooks fire, the forum front end updates, capability checks still apply, and any reputation or notification rules attached to the change run as normal.

Yes. The card editor lets you pick any column from the topic row, including reply count, view count, last-reply user, and last-reply timestamp. Drop the fields you want on the card front and put the rest on the detail panel for a focused triage view.

Yes. If your wpForo install tracks report counts on the topic row, those values show as a badge on the card. Moderators can sort or filter by report count and address the worst threads first without bouncing into the separate reports screen.

Yes. SleekView supports multiple boards in parallel and each board can scope by any column on the topic row, including the parent forum. You can run one board per category, one per moderator team, or a single global board for the whole community.

Yes. SleekView checks the same WordPress capabilities wpForo checks before letting a user drag a card or open the detail panel. Regular members never see the board. Moderators and admins land on it through a menu entry that you can rename or hide per role.

Yes. Cards lazy-load inside each lane and SleekView uses paginated queries against the topic table, so a large forum does not block the rest of WordPress. Moderators scroll a lane and the board fetches more topics as they reach the bottom of the lane.

Yes. Nothing on the board lives outside the wpForo topic rows. If you remove SleekView the topic table stays exactly where it was, the standard wpForo admin and front end still work, and any custom statuses you introduced through lanes remain valid in the schema.
