SleekPixel for WooCommerce Shipping: shipped-order OG cards
WooCommerce Shipping (the Automattic shipping and tax plugin formerly called WooCommerce Services) purchases discounted USPS and DHL labels directly from the order screen. SleekPixel listens for label purchases, reads the tracking number, and renders a branded shipping card per order.

From label purchase to shareable shipping card
WooCommerce Shipping (formerly WooCommerce Services) handles label purchases through Automattic's shipping rate API. When a label is bought from the order screen, the plugin writes the tracking number to _wc_shipment_tracking_items postmeta, sets the carrier code (USPS, DHL Express, etc.), and adds an order note. Many stores then move the order to wc-completed via the shipping admin, firing woocommerce_order_status_completed.
SleekPixel listens to that hook and to the WooCommerce Shipping label-purchase action. The card pulls order number, ship-to city or country (without exposing full address), carrier name, tracking number, and the line items being shipped. It renders into a branded shipping receipt layout, then writes the PNG to uploads with the meta key _sleekpixel_shipping_card attached to the order.
If the carrier delivers a status update via the WooCommerce Shipping tracking widget, SleekPixel can opt into regenerating the card with the new status (Out for delivery, Delivered, etc.). The order page's og:image reference always points to the latest version of the shipping card, so links shared on the day of delivery look different from links shared the day the label was purchased.

Comparison
Default Woo shipping OG vs SleekPixel for WooCommerce Shipping
Storefront logo on orders
- Every shipped Woo order shares the same generic storefront OG image
- Carrier (USPS, DHL Express) and tracking number never surface in shared previews
- Customers and ops staff cannot tell shipped orders from unshipped ones at a glance
- Delivery status updates from the WooCommerce Shipping widget go unnoticed in shares
- Support agents have no visual context when a shipped order URL is pasted in chat
SleekPixel
- Hooks the WooCommerce Shipping label-purchase action automatically
-
Reads tracking from
_wc_shipment_tracking_itemspostmeta - Renders carrier code (USPS, DHL Express) into the card badge
- Refreshes on delivery status changes when the tracking widget reports them
- Pulls ship-to region without exposing full customer addresses
Features
What SleekPixel gives you for WooCommerce Shipping
Carrier-aware shipping cards
Cards show whether a label was purchased via USPS Priority, USPS Ground Advantage, DHL Express, or another carrier WooCommerce Shipping supports. Each renders with the carrier badge and tracking number on the card.
Status-driven regeneration
When WooCommerce Shipping's tracking widget reports a status update, SleekPixel regenerates the card with the new status. Shared links show Label printed, Out for delivery, or Delivered depending on when they were opened.
Privacy-safe by default
Cards include order number, carrier, tracking, and a shipped-to region (city or country), never the full customer address. Personally identifiable data stays in WooCommerce and never enters the public PNG.
Use cases
Where WooCommerce Shipping stores get the biggest lift
Customer shipped-order emails
Shared order links in shipped-order emails preview a branded card showing carrier and tracking, so customers recognize the shipment instantly in their inbox.
Support and returns flows
Tracking-related support tickets carry visual context. Agents see carrier and current status in any pasted order link without opening the WooCommerce Shipping tab.
Ops fulfillment recaps
Ops channels following label purchases get a branded card per shipment with carrier and tracking, so the team can audit daily fulfillment without opening the orders table.
The bigger picture
Shipped order links should preview the shipment
WooCommerce Shipping is the Automattic-maintained plugin that lets Woo stores buy discounted USPS and DHL labels directly from the order screen. Stores using it ship thousands of orders a month, often through one or two carriers, and each shipped order generates a customer-facing URL shared in shipped-order emails, customer dashboards, support tickets, and ops channels. In every one of those places, the default OG image is the storefront's homepage logo.
A USPS Priority shipment to a customer in Berlin looks identical to a DHL Express shipment to one in Tokyo in any preview. The carrier and tracking number, which are the two pieces of information a recipient most wants to see on a shipped-order link, are completely invisible. SleekPixel changes that by treating each shipped order as its own piece of social content.
The card carries order number, carrier badge, tracking number, and ship-to region, then ships as a real PNG attached to the order. When the link gets opened anywhere, the preview shows the shipment, not the storefront brand. That single difference makes shipped-order links readable to customers, support agents, and ops staff.
Questions
Common questions about SleekPixel for WooCommerce Shipping
SleekPixel works with WooCommerce Shipping (formerly WooCommerce Services), reading the _wc_shipment_tracking_items postmeta that it writes. Many third-party shipping plugins use the same meta key via the WooCommerce Shipment Tracking standard, so they also work without extra configuration.
No. The card includes carrier, tracking number, order number, and a shipped-to region (city or country), never a full street address. Personally identifiable shipping data stays in WooCommerce and never enters the rendered PNG.
Yes. WooCommerce Shipping's tracking widget reports status changes from the carrier. SleekPixel opts into regenerating the card on Out for delivery and Delivered events so the preview reflects current delivery status.
When a label is voided, SleekPixel regenerates the card with a voided badge and clears the tracking number. The previous PNG is replaced in place so the order page never references stale tracking information.
Yes. DHL Express labels write the same tracking postmeta as USPS labels, with the carrier code set to DHL Express. SleekPixel reads the carrier code and renders the matching badge.

Yes. A WP-CLI bulk regenerate command walks every order with a _wc_shipment_tracking_items entry and renders a card per shipment. The job runs as a batched background queue, so historical fulfillment data catches up without blocking the admin.
No. SleekPixel only renders a PNG and attaches it as meta on the order. WooCommerce Shipping's shipment notifications and admin emails run unchanged. The card is referenced via og:image on the order page, separate from any email template.
Yes. WooCommerce Tax is a separate Automattic plugin in the same family. It does not affect shipping data, so SleekPixel reads shipping metadata exactly as it would without WooCommerce Tax installed. Both plugins can run together without conflicts.
