SleekView Charts dashboard for Event Espresso

Espresso captures the data, charts make it readable

Event Espresso writes registrations to esp_registration, transactions to esp_transaction, tickets to esp_ticket, and attendees to esp_attendee. The plugin's Reports tab shows headline numbers but stops short of letting an organizer slice them by ticket type, by event, or by week without an add-on.

SleekView Charts reads those tables directly. Registration date, status, transaction amount, payment method, and ticket type promote to columns that any chart card can group or aggregate on. The dashboard answers the questions an event business actually runs: weekly revenue, paid versus pending, registration volume per event, ticket mix.

Because reads use standard SleekView dataset joins, attendee meta, custom registration questions, and price modifiers all appear alongside core columns. The chart dashboard sits next to the table and kanban views built from the same dataset.

Workflow

From Espresso tables to chart cards in four steps

1

Connect the Espresso tables

Point SleekView at esp_registration joined to esp_transaction, esp_ticket, and esp_attendee. Custom registration questions appear as available columns.
2

Promote payment and ticket fields

Transaction amount, payment method, ticket name, event ID, and registration status surface as groupBy and aggregation columns.
3

Add chart cards

Number for revenue total, Pie for status distribution, Bar for ticket-type counts, Area for weekly registration cadence.
4

Save the dashboard

Pin the dashboard for the operations review. Saved views capture filters, columns, and card configuration.

Comparison

Default Event Espresso reporting vs SleekView Charts

Default Event Espresso Reports tab

  • Reports tab focuses on totals, not configurable breakdowns.
  • Cross-event revenue comparisons require an additional reporting add-on.
  • Custom registration questions are not chartable from the default admin.
  • Filtering reports by ticket type or payment method is limited.
  • No saved dashboards for organizers versus finance.

SleekView Charts

  • Reads esp_registration, esp_transaction, esp_ticket, esp_attendee directly.
  • Custom registration questions become groupBy columns automatically.
  • Number, Pie, Bar, Area, Line, Radar, and Radial chart types.
  • Aggregations cover count, sum, average, minimum, maximum.
  • Saved views capture filters, columns, and card configuration per role.

Features

What SleekView Charts gives you for Event Espresso

Revenue at a glance

Sum of TXN_total in a Number card replaces the weekly export-to-spreadsheet step that most Espresso teams run on Mondays.

Status mix in one view

A donut of registration statuses surfaces incomplete and pending pipelines that the default Reports tab hides under filter chains.

One dataset, every view

Table, Kanban, Feedback, and Charts share the same join. Switch between editing registrations and reviewing the dashboard without losing context.

Audience

Who builds Event Espresso charts dashboards with SleekView

Event organizers

Pace registrations against capacity per event. Weekly area chart and ticket-type bar make the close-out decisions obvious.

Finance and accounting

Revenue Number plus payment-method Pie cover the weekly reconciliation without leaving wp-admin.

Training and conference businesses

Compare ticket-tier performance across recurring events. The same dashboard reopens each season with fresh data.

The bigger picture

Espresso owns the pipeline, charts own the review

Event Espresso is a strong transactional engine: it captures registrations, processes payments, enforces capacity, and ties everything back to a registrant record. What it does less well is the weekly review where an organizer wants to ask one composite question (paid registrations per ticket tier per event over the last fourteen days) without leaving WordPress. SleekView Charts treats the Espresso tables as a normal SleekView dataset and lets that question render as a four-card dashboard.

Saved views become the rituals of the role: Monday revenue review, mid-week capacity check, Friday close-out. The plugin keeps owning the registrations; SleekView just makes the reporting layer look like the operations a real event business runs.
