SleekView Charts for Gravity Flow Form Connector: workflow step dashboards
Group gf_entry rows by workflow_step status, count connected child submissions per parent, slice flow durations by step, and chart end-to-end progress across linked Gravity Forms without per-entry inspection.

Workflow steps as cards, not status columns
The Form Connector extension lets Gravity Flow chain forms together, so a step on one workflow submits a connected form, which becomes its own gf_entry with its own workflow. The result is a chain of linked entries spanning multiple forms, each carrying step status, assignee, and timestamps in gf_entry_meta and the Gravity Flow log tables.
SleekView Charts treats gf_entry as the dataset and reads Gravity Flow meta keys like workflow_step, workflow_step_status, and the connector parent-entry reference as first-class columns. Count entries per step, rank steps by average duration computed from date_created and step completion timestamps, and group connector children by parent form. The workflow logic stays in Gravity Flow. SleekView just charts the steps it already records.
Charts share filters and saved views with Table mode, so jumping from a Bar of stalled steps to the actual entries waiting on assignees is one tab. On a multi-form approval workflow with hundreds of in-flight entries, the indexed gf_entry queries Gravity Flow already runs keep cards responsive without a custom report builder.

Active in-progress entries
gf_entry rows where workflow_step_status is pending or in_progress across the connected workflow forms, so leads see live work in the system instantly.
Count
Entries per workflow step
workflow_step meta on gf_entry, joined to the step label so the dashboard reads as readable step names rather than internal step IDs.

Step status mix
workflow_step_status values like pending, in_progress, complete, expired, and rejected, so workflow managers see the live state of every linked form in one glance.

Default Gravity Flow inbox vs SleekView Charts
Default Gravity Flow inbox
- Inbox lists pending steps but doesn't aggregate across linked forms
- Connector parent-child entries require manual entry inspection
- Step duration metrics aren't visualized in the default UI
- No daily completion trend across the whole workflow chain
- No saved dashboards per role for managers versus approvers

Features
What SleekView Charts gives you for Gravity Flow Form Connector
Workflow meta as columns
SleekView reads Gravity Flow meta on gf_entry including workflow_step, workflow_step_status, assignee, and the Form Connector parent reference, all exposed as groupable, aggregatable fields.
Group by every step dimension
Step name, status, assignee, parent entry, and submission date show up as group-by options, so managers build approval and connector dashboards they would otherwise wire by hand with SQL.
Filters apply to every card
Set a date range, a workflow form, or one connector chain once and every step card scopes to the same slice. No drift between widgets when the team narrows to a single approval cycle.
Audience
Who builds workflow step dashboards with SleekView
Workflow managers
Track active steps, rank bottlenecks, and watch completions per day across linked Gravity Forms without bouncing between inboxes on each connected form.
Approvers
Filter the dashboard to their assigned step, see their queue at a glance, and confirm that the previous step delivered before they begin reviewing.
Form admins
Audit which workflow forms carry the most connector children, validate Form Connector links are firing, and surface stalled chains the inbox view alone won't reveal.
The bigger picture
Why Gravity Flow Form Connector data deserves charts
The Form Connector extension turns Gravity Flow into a real workflow engine spanning multiple Gravity Forms. Each step writes to gf_entry, each transition logs to entry meta, each assignment carries a user ID. Yet the default Gravity Flow inbox is a per-user queue.
The status filter exists, the workflow_step meta exists, the date_updated column exists, but there is no built-in view of throughput across the whole chain. Workflow managers want stalled-step dashboards. Approvers want their queue and their average handle time.
Form admins want to know which connector chains are firing and which aren't. None of these are exotic. They are aggregations over rows Gravity Flow already writes and meta the Form Connector already saves.
SleekView Charts treats the workflow as data and turns the multi-form chain into a single readable dashboard.
Questions
Common questions about SleekView Charts for Gravity Flow Form Connector
Yes. Form Connector writes a parent-entry reference to gf_entry_meta on connected child submissions, alongside Gravity Flow's own workflow_step and workflow_step_status meta. SleekView reads all of them and exposes them as group-by and aggregation options on gf_entry.
Yes. Group gf_entry by workflow_step regardless of source form, then filter the view to the linked forms you care about. A single Bar then shows step volume across every form in the connector chain.
Use the difference between date_updated when the step completes and date_created on the entry as a derived column. Average it across the step group to surface bottlenecks, or use Maximum to find the slowest individual entries waiting on action.
Aggregations run as SELECT ... GROUP BY against indexed columns on gf_entry and the related gf_entry_meta. Card render time scales with step cardinality, not raw row count, so even a long workflow history stays responsive on a busy approvals dashboard.
Yes. Gravity Flow stores the current assignee in entry meta. Filter the view to a single assignee user ID and every card scopes to their personal workload, then save the view per-role so the approver lands on it on every visit.
Yes. Save views and scope per WordPress role or capability. Workflow managers see global throughput, approvers see their queue, and editors see only the forms they own. Each user keeps their personal filters between visits.

SleekView counts entries that actually carry the new workflow_step value, so older submissions before the step existed don't pollute the totals. Filter to the activation date to compare the new step's throughput against the rest of the workflow.
Each card exports its aggregated rows as CSV with the group-by labels and the aggregate values. Useful for sharing per-step throughput with the workflow owner, archiving the monthly approval volume, or feeding the chain's timing into a separate report.
