PressPermit shaped what PublishPress Permissions later became. Sites that adopted it years ago have accumulated hundreds of exceptions across roles, posts, and terms. The legacy admin spreads those rules across narrow per-post and per-role screens that made sense in 2014 and make auditing in 2026 painful.
